Nearly 7 Lakh Vacancies of Various Groups Lying Vacant in Various Central Government Departments /Ministries

     In a reply of unstarred question in Loksabha, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions &  Minister of State in the PMO stated that as on 01.03.2018, 3118956 posts filled out of sanctioned post of 3802779. It means that 683823 posts are vacant as on date.

     Hon'ble minister also stated that Instructions have been issued to fill - up the existing vacancies in the concerned Ministries/Departments, their Attached and Subordinate Offices, in a time bound manner.

Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:

(a) whether there are nearly 7 lakh vacancies of various groups lying vacant in various Central Government departments/Ministries, PSUs as of February, 2021;

(b) if so, the details of vacancies of each department, group-wise and department-wise;

(c) the details of vacancies lying vacant for the last three years and five years, departmentwise and groupwise; and

(d) the efforts being made to fihlup all the vacancies in a time-bound manner?

(a) to (c): The details of sanctioned posts and in position in various Central Government Ministries/Departments, group-wise and department-wise, as on 1.3.2016 and 1.3.2018 i.e. for the last three years and five years are at Annexure-I & II. The details of vacancies as of February, 2021 and that of PSUs are not available.

(d): Instructions have been issued to fill - up the existing vacancies in the concerned Ministries/Departments, their Attached and Subordinate Offices, in a time bound manner vide OM No. 430 14/03/2019—Estt.çB) dated 2 1.01.2020.
